LinkedIn University Finder

You have to set up a LinkedIn account to use this resource, but I found it quite interesting. For example, when I selected the field "Communication, Journalism and Related Programs," and indicated I had an interest in working at NBCUniversal (in the United States), I got some good college matches. 

University Finder pulls data from its profiles to find out which schools and degrees translate into jobs at certain companies.

Prudential Spirit of Community Awards (Application Deadline: November 4th, 2014)

The application period for the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Program is now open. The program was created to honor students in grades 5-12 for outstanding service to others at the local, state, and national level.

New Jersey's top youth volunteers for 2015 will be announced February 10 and brought to Washington, D.C., next May for four days of special recognition events.

The online application and related materials can be found at State honorees receive $1000 and an all-expense paid trip with a parent or guardian to Washington, D.C.

DeSales University Poetry Festival (full-tuition scholarship)

Students are invited to submit three poems before the festival to compete for a four-year, full-tuition scholarship. The deadline for submitting poetry is Tuesday, October 21st. Each submitted page of poetry should include the student's name and high school and be emailed to

TCNJ How to Give a Great Audition Workshop

The Department of Music at The College of New Jersey is pleased to send you information on our annual “How to Give a Great Audition” workshop.  The workshop will be held on Saturday, November 22, from 10:00am-3:00pm .  This is a hands-on workshop for high school-aged music students, their parents and teachers.  Topics will include:
  • New Jersey All-State Audition Solo masterclasses
  • Learning skills needed for a successful college music audition
  • Valuable information on choosing a college music program
  • Meeting with college faculty and students.
