I hope summer has afforded you much deserved relaxation and rejuvenation as you begin to work with students and their families in navigating the college admission process. Our office looks forward to partnering with you during this upcoming academic year and wanted to take this opportunity to share a few updates.
As a reminder, Boston College has implemented two major policy changes effective for the 2019-2020 admission cycle:
First, Early Action was replaced with two rounds of Early Decision: Early Decision I and Early Decision II. Application deadlines are November 1 for Early Decision I and January I for Early Decision II and Regular Decision.
Next, a November 1 priority scholarship deadline was established for consideration for our full-tuition, merit based Gabelli Presidential Scholars Program. Both Early Decision and Regular Decision candidates will be eligible for Presidential Scholarship consideration as long as they submit their applications to Boston College by November 1.
Throughout the fall, members of our staff will visit approximately 800 high schools around the world. We will also host "Eagle Overview" information sessions and joint presentations with other U.S. universities. Visit BC Near You to see where we will be traveling this fall, and please encourage your students to engage with us. You can meet our staff here.
I hope this information is helpful to you in working with your students. As a staff, we have tremendous admiration and respect for the work that you do with students and families. If any of your applicants need assistance, please encourage them to contact us.
I will send another email in December with an Early Decision update. Until then, best wishes for a successful start to the school year.
