Articulation Agreement with Monmouth University

Beginning with the Fall 2016 semester, Monmouth University and Communications High School (CHS) established an Articulation Agreement for CHS graduates who attend Monmouth University’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Students will enter their freshman year with advanced standing providing the terms and conditions of the Agreement are met.

Admission to Monmouth University with Advanced Standing may include:

  • Credit awarded for Advanced Placement Calculus with a score of 4 or 5. The Monmouth University 4-credit course equivalent is MA 125, Calculus with Analytic Geometry. 

  • Credit awarded for Advanced Placement Studio Art with a score of 3, 4 or 5. The Monmouth University 3-credit course equivalent is AR 001, Art Elective, pending portfolio review.

  • Credit awarded for Introduction to Digital Video. The Monmouth University 3 credit course equivalent is CO 221, Introduction to Digital Media.

  • Credit awarded for Intermediate Digital Video. The Monmouth University 3 credit course equivalent is CO 221, Introduction to Television Production.

  • Credit awarded for Advanced Studio Production - Radio. The Monmouth University 3 credit course equivalent is CO 102, Working with Audio.

  • Credit awarded for Advanced Studio Production - TV. The Monmouth University 3 credit course equivalent is CO 145, Introduction to Television Production.

  • Credit awarded for Advanced Mass Media (previously Advanced Journalism). The Monmouth University 3 credit course equivalent is CO 211, Introduction to Journalism.


  • A Communications High School renewable scholarship in the amount of $4,000 annually will be awarded to qualified students (in addition to any other federal, state, or institutional aid the student is eligible for; not to exceed the cost of attendance.) Students who successfully matriculate into the MA program will receive a $3,500 scholarship toward their fifth year.
